What You Need to Do

  1. Review User Roles and Permissions
    Ensure only authorized users can manage payment requests and methods. Users with Sales permissions can request payments, issue refunds, and select digital payment methods like ACH, credit cards, and digital wallets (Apple Pay, PayPal, Venmo).

    • Go to Settings > Manage Users to review permissions.

    • Check roles such as Primary Admin, Company Admin, Bookkeeper, and others with Sales permissions.

    • Adjust permissions as needed to maintain control over payment processes.

  2. Set Default Payment Methods
    Once notified in QuickBooks, select your preferred payment methods:

    • Navigate to Settings > Account and Settings > Sales.

    • Choose default payment options in the Invoice Payments section.

  3. Complete QuickBooks Payments Setup
    To start accepting payments:

    • Go to Settings > Payments and click Confirm now.

    • Provide identity verification information and specify your deposit account.

This is a new form for 2020. The 1099-Misc is also available as you may need it. If you would like to learn more this link will take you to the IRS webpage.

Please remember that this update needs to be installed on all of your workstations. This is a significant update that will only work for QB Desktop versions 21, 20, 19, and 18.
